The Leeds branch of Europa Road, a division of the UK’s leading independent logistics provider, Europa Worldwide Group, is celebrating six years of success since it opened in December 2013.

Driven by experienced Branch Manager Stuart McKie, the team of seven – which is based at Calder Park in Wakefield – has kick started 2020 with a set of ambitious goals to capitalise on the booming year of business it had in 2019.

The team offers a comprehensive Road Freight service for import and export to and from Europe, becoming known as the leading logistics operator in West Yorkshire thanks to its passionate and energetic Account Managers.

Stuart, who joined the branch in 2018, has led his team to achieve some stand out results in the last 12 months. The number of Account Managers at the branch has trebled and two new sales support positions have been added since Stuart began managing the branch, while the team has celebrated several notable new business wins including large accounts in the automotive, aerospace and specialist distribution sectors.

Stuart said: “We’re thrilled to be marking our sixth birthday in Leeds with such a raft of achievements under our belts! I’m so impressed with the dedication and commitment I see from each member of my team every day.

“They’re a young team, but they have a wealth of experience and boundless energy which means they’re always on the ball when it comes to new business as well as ensuring our existing customers are delighted with the service we provide.

“Our goal for 2020 is to double our number of Account Managers, so that we have six in total, and ensure that we continue to cement our position as the leading logistics operator of choice in our region.”

Sales and Branch Network Director at Europa Dionne Redpath added: “I’m delighted with the excellent results our Leeds branch has achieved since it opened and particularly the big account wins of the last 12 months.

“The team has really invested time and effort in selling our MBX service – in a nutshell a money back guarantee offer – which has led to significant new business developments and contracts being secured, particularly in Italy. Germany and Spain continue to be strong areas of growth for our Leeds team too. I look forward to seeing them smash their new targets as we move into the new year.”

Europa Worldwide Group is a specialist road, air & sea, warehouse and showfreight operator employing more than 900 people across its 16 sites in the UK, as well as Hong Kong and Belgium, with representation in 100 countries. The business has a turnover of £180m, is included in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 companies for 2019 and is currently working on building its largest ‘best in class’ warehouse facility to date in Corby, Northants.
