Commercial vehicle contract hire and fleet management company, Prohire Limited has scooped the top prize for rental and contract hire in the temperature-controlled sector at the TCS&D Awards. At a black-tie ceremony at the East of England Arena and Events Centre, Andrew Morley, Prohire’s Group Sales Director along with Maria D’Andrea, National Sales Manager – Temperature Controlled accepted the honour from Ryan Mazgaj, Sales Manager of Gray and Adams who sponsored the award.

Now in its 7th year, the Temperature Controlled Storage & Distribution Awards are the only UK Awards Event that recognise the achievements of companies and individuals who have really made a difference in the temperature-controlled storage and distribution industry. Prohire won its award for ‘transforming service delivery in the sector and Andrew Morley commented, “Prohire fully appreciates just how time critical and presentation-sensitive the temperature-controlled market is and how much that requires both technical knowledge and superlative monitoring. Fleet uptime and vehicle specification are even more critical in food and pharmaceutical than they are in other sectors and as one of the most customer service-oriented contract hire and fleet management operators, we have been making significant strides in this key sector.”

The Prohire business, which is endorsed by the government backed ‘Customer Service Excellence (CSE) accreditation’ has been established in the temperature controlled for many years with customers such as Wing Yip, National Milk Records and Asco Foods, all well into multiple renewal cycles. National Milk Records has recently renewed with Prohire for its fifth three-year contract term.

Andrew continued, “We have made a multi-million-pound investment in not only new rental and support vehicles, but just as importantly in committing resource and training to our core fleet management skillset and customer service credentials which are unique in the industry. We tailor the best all round vehicle, refrigeration unit and support package specifically to the individual customer’s requirements and we work closely with supply partners including body builders and fridge partners.”

The judges were impressed by the high specification of the equipment Prohire supplies and the efforts being made to future-proof customers ahead of new legislation such as ULEZ and direct vision. Prohire’s awareness of voluntary standards such as FORS and the FTA Van Excellence ensures best advice to achieve optimum vehicle performance and uptime and its Fleet Compliance Portal (ProVision) not only provides customers with annual maintenance planners, but also complete transparency for all service and compliance critical documentation.

Martyn Cogan, Director of TCS&D Events added, “The TC industry is measured on the successful and timely delivery of goods to their ultimate destination and it is clear that Prohire is taking the lead in supporting operators to achieve optimum fleet uptime and compliance in this heavily regulated industry sector.”

Prohire supplies commercial vehicles and full fleet support services to a wide range of business sectors including foodservice and catering, chilled food and pharmaceuticals, builders’ merchants, leisure retail and the brewing industry as well as to specialist logistics companies.
