The Buxton based supplier of 400 different cheeses from around the world has selected Fowler Welch as its distribution provider of choice by awarding the supply chain expert their retail and foodservice distribution volume on a 3 year contract.

The move initially saw the chilled food distribution giant manage the full supply of cheeses to Tesco, J Sainsbury, Wm Morrison and Brakes from the Bradburys HQ in Buxton. Following a successful implementation period, the contract has expanded to cover deliveries to Waitrose, Aldi, Lidl and Bidfood.

The volume is being managed through Fowler Welch’s state-of-the-art shared facility in Nuneaton and will allow Bradbury to reduce their carbon footprint with a significant reduction in food miles. The cheese specialist liked Fowler Welch’s strategic partnership with Saputo Dairy UK (formerly Dairy Crest) and felt the expertise demonstrated in this partnership would also benefit Bradburys, providing them with the dedicated account management and improved customer experience they deserved.

Brain Owens, Operations Director at Bradburys says of the new relationship: “Since getting on board with Fowler Welch, the team have shown tremendous flexibility in responding to our specific needs. We have received excellent service levels which is vital to ensuring we continue to grow with our customers by providing full, reliable supply in to them.”

Jon Lee, Head of Sales at Fowler Welch commented: “From the first meeting with the Bradburys team it was clear that their vision aligned with what Fowler Welch could offer and we’re delighted that this new relationship has grown significantly within the initial contract term.”

Bradburys Cheese joins a host of other big-name brands at the Nuneaton chilled storage and distribution facility, providing Bradburys with the security in supply required and the service excellence that has become synonymous with the existing Fowler Welch operation.

Nick Hay, CEO, Fowler Welch adds: “This contract win is a great example of how we listen, respond and deliver for our customers, understanding their needs and providing solutions that match their requirements, demonstrating once again that Fowler Welch is #MoreThanFruitAndVeg”
