Dan Philpot has proved to be the man with the golden plan at ELB Partners where his Midas Touch has been responsible for the firm’s ability to retain its coveted FORS Gold status.

The commercial director at the Wimbledon-based haulier has not only passed his Road Haulage CPC for transport managers, but also his exams to become a certified FORS practitioner.

This achievement underlines the 32-year-old’s credentials as the director responsible for maintaining ELB’s status as the only London haulier to achieve FORS (Fleet Operation Recognition Scheme) Gold for six consecutive years.

The CPC for Transport Manager qualification means Dan is certified to carry out the relevant safety compliance checks for both drivers and vehicles as well as being responsible to the wider public’s welfare in relation to his fleet through the Traffic Commissioner, all of which is critical for maintaining the FORS Gold standard.

The rigorous FORS qualification – only achieved by exceptional operators – requires a business to evidence policies and procedures that demonstrate the highest levels of safety and environmental sustainability in its supply chains.

As a result, the business, part of the award-winning Pallet-Track network, has invested tens of thousands of pounds in EURO6-engined vehicles and the latest state-of-the-art camera technology, and has been at the forefront of delivering vital equipment into the NHS Nightingale Hospitals in Birmingham and Bristol.

“I started working at ELB as an office assistant 14 years ago and have progressed through the organisation – it’s been a great journey,” said Dan.

“To achieve this recognition is great for my development and growth in the business where everyone is treated as part of a bigger family.”

Peter Eason, managing director of ELB, which which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary said: “Dan is the man with golden touch. His professionalism and diligence has helped ELB achieve the highest accolade in transport safety and sustainability.

“He is a great member of the team who is helping mentor many of the other colleagues – we can all learn from his example.”
